Celtic Trails of Gaels and Wales

April 2017  •  16 days

Originally intended to be an End to End trip, things have now evolved somewhat to include a few other places I want to visit (the main one being Ireland). Below is an outline of my intended itinerary. However, this is very much a draft, and any suggestions of alterations and improvements to my route, places I should definitely visit and things I absolutely must do on my trip are always welcome and much appreciated. As are any hosting offers from you lovely people, or people who want to come and join me for a stretch (That's right, I've not forgotten you mentioned that! [https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/rovingmoon]). Outline Itinerary: *West along National Cycle Route 1 from John O'Groats to Tongue, then south towards Inverness. *West again along NCN Route 78, the Caledonian Canal to Fort William. *Cutting inland (and abandoning the cycle networks) via Inveraray and Dunoon to drop in at home (Saltcoats). *Continue south to Cairnryan and Sail to Belfast *Follow Eurovelo Route 1 around coastal Ireland to Rosslare. *Sail to Wales (Fishguard) and follow NCN Route 4, the Celtic Trail through southern Wales to Bristol. *Follow NCN Route 3 South/East, passing Exmoor, dropping in at the Gnome reserve (a key stopping point :D), before finally (hopefully) arriving at Landsend. *To Europe? :D
